It is with regret that we announce the passing of our former trustee, Stefan Paul Sanchez. Stefan performed as an opera singer with Nonsuch at St. John’s Smith Square, Hampton Court Theatre and other concerts in London. He was a great supporter of the company for many years, and assisted in organising several collaborations in Spain, both educational projects and performances, including at the La Cereza Theatre in Carmona, Seville, Spain. As Artistic Director of The Grand Opera Thailand, Stefan introduced historical dance research with opera performance to Thailand at the Siam Society in Bangkok in 2019. The final concert was supported by the Embassies of Spain and Portugal to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the circumnavigation of the world. Stefan recognised the international potential of NONSUCH HISTORY AND DANCE, as a professional company performing and teaching historical dance and music as a way to share culture globally. It is our intention to continue Stefan's plans for other international projects, which were arrested due to the 2020 pandemic.
